Dancers from Rijeka performed in Zagreb
Czech Beseda Zagreb celebrated its 135th anniversary. A part of this celebration was the Czech folklore evening in Zagreb Czech Home.
The anniversary celebration of the oldest Czech society in Croatia started on October 9 with a press conference, opening of the cultural and business center Josef Václav Frič and presentation of the book and film "Czech people to Zagreb – Zagreb to Czech people." It continued on October 10 with the folklore evening.
The evening was a pleasant gathering of the hosts and members of Czech societies from different parts of Croatia. On this occasion, the members of these societies presented the results of their recent work.
Dancers from the elective Czech school "Zagreb Sunshine" opened the program, followed by two dance groups from Czech Beseda Končanica and their brass band. The adult dance couples from Czech Beseda Rijeka followed, as did dancers from Czech Beseda Veliki and Mali Zdenci and Czech Community Bjelovar accompanied by their band "Old Friends." Dance group "Holubička" from Daruvar took over the stage, and the final act was saved for the hosts, dance group "Jeteliček" from Zagreb.
During this evening, Mr. Dubravko Dosegović also organized a book signing for his new book "Czech Republic through a keyhole." It was a great opportunity for all guests to get their copy of this very interesting book.
Czech Beseda Zagreb was a great host. They gave excellent dinner for all program participants and guests. After dinner, the musicians and singers from Zagreb and Končanica kept entertaining the guests long into the night.
