Children's dance group at folklore festival in Vodnjan
Second international children's festival "Amico é…" organized by Vodnjan Italian Community took place on May 2, 2009 in Vodnjan, a little town in Istria.
About 120 children from 6 folklore groups participated in the festival: Vodnjan elementary school folklore group, the youngest group of Vodnjan folklore ensemble, the Istrian Montenegrin folklore group "Peroj 1657," group "Gioia" from Italian town S. Vito al Tagliamento, Czech Beseda Rijeka dance group "Račići" and children's company "Gatalinke" from Vinkovci.
The festival started with a parade of all participants in their traditional costumes. The parade started at the main square near the Italian Community building and, with cheerful songs and music, went to the Culture Home where the program took place. It was very well organized, the main program was warm and interesting, little dancers were endearing, and the hosts pleasant and welcoming. The children from Rijeka gave a very successful performance, followed by loud applause as a reward.
