Opening night of Karel Pisoř comedy "Rejuvenated Grandpa"

In the eve of the International women's day, March 7th, Czech Beseda Rijeka amateur theater pleasantly surprised about a hundred visitors with the opening of a new comedy act. They will present the same play on March 14 at the Czech amateur theater review in Lipovac near Daruvar. This season their choice is Karel Piskoř's comedy "Rejuvenated grandpa," a little shortened and adapted to each actor.
You can imagine what happens when a wife finds her husband's "little black book" with a considerable dollar amount written next to each name. But if you want to find out what happens when a married couple gets three grown up children in one afternoon, because their uncle from USA came to visit, you have to come and see the play. Interesting plot, funny dialogues and good actors are certainly noteworthy.
On opening night the audience was so occupied by what went on the stage, that they did not even mind sitting in the cold stage room where there is no heat yet. The actors did not mind performing on a stage with virtually no setting, without adequate lights, even without a curtain. It was obvious that everyone was content. The actors have another week to tweak the play, make it more dynamic and gain confidence.
After the play nobody was in a rush to go home. Our "chefs" hurried to serve cooked vine that revived cold bodies. The men gave all women beautiful carnations in honor of the coming Women's day. There were all sorts of snacks and coffee. At the end of the evening everyone left satisfied because of a nice evening they spent in good company and under the roof of their new, although unfinished, Czech Home.
