Children of Czech Beseda Rijeka youngest dance group performed at the "Our Spring" festival in Kaptol
"Naše jaro" (Our Spring) is the festival featuring the youngest members of Czech societies in Croatia. It is always impressive, and it is a warranty that Czech songs, folklore, dances, language, amateur and puppet theatres will not be forgotten. The folklore part of the festival took place on Sunday, June 21, in Kaptol. About twenty children's dance groups from Czech schools and Czech besedas participated.
Dance group "Račići" represented Czech Beseda Rijeka, lead by Snježana Husak and Vladimira Marinković. Some of the parents accompanied the little dancers on the long way to Kaptol and back. The mother of little dancer Mateja wrote:
We are getting ready again for the long road to Kaptol. This time we met in front of our new Home, loaded the baggage on the bus and started our journey. After six hours we arrived to our destination – Kaptol, a place we all know well by now. We prepared for the performance and went to the main square where the festival was held. Although they were tired, the children gave their best and danced two dances: Račić and Travička. Then they changed back to their "civil" clothes and went to lunch. After the lunch, there was a surprise for them – a beautiful pony named Sokol. They took pictures with the pony, had some ice cream, went back to the bus and started the journey home. We arrived late at night, tired, but also very satisfied because everything went well.
