Voluntary work days
Although some cultural events, actions and meetings already took place in the new Czech Home building, there is still a lot of work to be done and a lot of resources to be spent before all the areas in the building are finished. The same can be said for the surroundings. At this moment, most of the effort is on landscaping.
Almost every week Beseda members organize some large actions and readily accept the invitations to voluntary work. On May 14 and 20 they worked on the construction of the support wall on the west side of the building. Almost all members came to lend a hand, and the hard work did not scare off women either. While our president worked hard despite her age, medical condition and the heat wave, other women had a job not less important – to prepare snacks, make coffee and make sure that all the workers have enough liquid nearby, because the work and high temperature required a lot of strength and will.
