President of Czech Beseda Rijeka Mrs. Fanika Husak remembered all the nice, friendly and successful business meetings with the ambassador, thanking him for the very successful cooperation, understanding and help Mr. Burianek gave us. Mr. Denona thanked Mr. Burianek on behalf of the Primorsko-goranska County for everything he did to foster cooperation between the County and the Czech Republic, and especially for the effort put into the construction of the Czech Home. "This building will serve not only to promote Czech culture and the pride of the lovely, industrious and competent people of Czech Beseda Rijeka, but also to the entire city and county," Mr. Denona said. Mrs. Dorotea Pesic Bukovac thanked the ambassador for successful cooperation with the City of Rijeka, pointing out that during his term the summer consulate in Rijeka was opened. At the same time she welcomed the new consul to Rijeka. "You helped us, the majority, to understand how to act and respect the minorities, while we at Rijeka are very proud of our relationship with minorities living in Rijeka, our multiculturalism, openness, and cooperativeness," Mrs. Bukovac emphasized.

Oproštaj s Primorsko-goranskom županijom

In his final speech in Croatian, Mr. Burianek said only the best about the friendship and cooperation, about everything Czech minority is doing to preserve its identity while gaining respect, understanding and support from the city and the county. He thanked everyone who helped financially or morally to build the Czech Home, pleased with the fast progress of the construction. "It was a pleasure and an honor to work with the City of Rijeka, Primorsko-goranska County and the Czech people of Rijeka. I will never forget you and will always be happy to come back, even privately with my family," Mr. Burianek concluded.
