Singing group Nostalgia performed at the Matejna celebration in Viškovo
Viškovo municipality celebrated its most important holiday – St. Matthew's day, the guardian of the borough and parish – for the thirteenth time with the five-day celebration "Matejna." The celebration consists of many traditional programs. One of these programs is "Mantinjada pul Ronjgi" – a gathering of the top players of traditional instruments from Istria and the north Croatian coast, organized by the Ivan Matetić Ronjgov Institute, which took place on Sunday, September 24. The introductory part of this event, named "Kanat pul Ronjgi," was held on Saturday, September 23. This was a reunion of about a dozen choirs and singing groups from the Kvarner County, including singing group "Nostalgia" of Czech Beseda Rijeka. It was dedicated to the author of many choir pieces Josip Kaplan, the 100th anniversary of the birth of Croatian composer Boris Papandopulo, and the 75th birthday of Dušan Prašelj, composer and conductor, the founder of this event.
Group "Nostalgia" sang three songs, rewarded with a loud applause. Later in the evening, there was a concert of well-known artists, popular singers, in the Croatian Veterans' Home.
