Graphic art exhibition "Vladimir Boudnik – between avant-garde and underground" opened in Mali Salon in Rijeka

Czech embassy in Croatia and the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts in Rijeka set up the print exhibition Vladimir Boudnik – between avant-garde and underground in Mali Salon in Rijeka. The exhibition was opened on May 4, 2006, at 7 PM.

Exhibition opening in Mali Salon

The exhibition author Zdenek Primus spoke about the Boudnik's work at the opening, Rijeka Mayor Vojko Obersnel welcomed the guests, and Czech Ambassador in Croatia Petr Burianek opened the exhibition. Mr. Burianek also spoke about the long successful cooperation and friendship between the Czech embassy and the City of Rijeka. Other employees of the Czech embassy, significant people of the Rijeka culture life, many members of Czech Beseda Rijeka and many other Rijeka citizens were also present at the opening.

This exhibition, so far displayed also in the Czech Republic (in Prague, Brno and Olomouc), Denamark, Lithuania, Italy and some countries outside Europe, will be opened in Rijeka until May 25.

Vladimir Boudnik prints

Vladimir Boudnik is a prominent figure of Czech post-war abstract art. He was one of the leading personalities of Czech underground of the fifties and sixties, and is the most important figure of Czech post-war visual arts.

The exhibition shows active and structural graphics of the sixties, monotypes and a so far unknown graphic expression in a complex form.
