Rijeka amateur theatre at the Czech amateur theatre festival in Lipovac near Daruvar
Saturday, March 25, 2006: Czech Beseda Rijeka amateur theatre group gave Moliere’s play "Poor Husband" on the stage of Czech Home in Lipovac near Daruvar. The act was a part of Croatian Czech amateur theatre festival that took place on March 24 and 25.
Also performing at the festival were theatre group Ľudovit Štúr from Ilok with Štefan Sršňák’s play "A Man with a Secret Mission," Daruvar high school theatre group with "Theft" by Elena Růžička and Hedviga Marjanović, Czech Beseda Zagreb with adapted play by Karel Čapek "How a Theater Play Comes About" and Lucerna theatre group from Bjelovar with Zdenko Trnka’a play "Battle for Possesions."
As always, the hosts form Czech Beseda Lipovac were very hospitable, and proved to be great organizers. The group from Rijeka went on stage after the long trip from Rijeka to Lipovac, and after the show they had the same long night drive back to Rijeka ahead of them. Thanks to the understanding of colleagues from Bjelovar and Zagreb, they did not perform the last of all groups, in the late evening hours, as the Theatre Council of Croatian Czech Union, who organized the event, suggested.
The actors from Rijeka gave a sound performance. The selector of the Croatian Culture Council for the 46th Croatian Amateur Theatre Festival that will take place in Kastav, gave the play a positive evaluation.
