On Saturday, October 29, Czech Beseda Rijeka organized traditional Czech "posvícení". The word posvícení means feast (town fair, sanctification) and is celebrated in the autumn, at the end of agricultural work, as folk and church holiday, when the family meets to enjoy food and entertainment.
On the terrace of the Czech Home TG Masaryk, at 5 PM started the presentation of customs - meat sausages were made, grilled and tasted for the guests, traditional Czech buns were offered, as well as traditional potato scones "bramboráky” and Czech beer.It was all a part of a great party that included singing of traditional Czech and Moravian songs accompanied on accordion.
A cultural program followed, presenting folklore group of Slovenian culture society Bazovica, male and female vocal groups of Czech Beseda Zagreb County with their own musical accompaniment, and CB Rijeka singing and dance groups.
The program was followed by dinner, dancing, singing and partying that lasted long into the night.
