Puppet theater
operates within the Czech Beseda Rijeka since 2001. Until
now they prepared and performed several puppet plays, presented in Croatia and
the Czech Republic.
First rehearsed
performance was "Little Red Riding Hood." Next
was the story "A wise princess" which they presented at
the first festival of Czech puppet theater in 2002 in Slavonski Brod. Later, the play was
given in Treglava and Virovitica. In
Rijeka, this play performed in four kindergartens, in the retirement home Kantrida
and Croatian culture home (HKD) Sušak. The
third puppet show, the story of Hansel and Gretel, wrote Vaclav Rence, and was
presented in Rijeka, Gornji Daruvar and Končanica.
The
long head of the puppet group was Vedrana Valenčić, who also makes the scenery. This
amateur puppet theater has a collection of 24 puppets. Some
of them changed clothes in accordance with the requirements of the performance.
The
current head of the puppet group is the teacher of Czech language Krešimir
Špralja, who works with children who attend Czech language classes in
elementary school Podmurvice. Mrs. Zdena Steckerova, a
teacher from the Czech Republic, is selecting and adapting texts for them.
